Deployed Engineer

Fern is revolutionizing how companies handle their APIs by providing tools to create standardized, well-documented SDKs and API documentation. Founded in 2022 and backed by YCombinator, we're a growing team of less than 20 people working from our Brooklyn office.

As a Deployed Engineer, you'll be at the intersection of customer success and engineering, working directly with CTOs and engineering teams from fast-growing tech companies. This role combines technical expertise with customer relationship management, making it ideal for engineers with entrepreneurial aspirations.

Your responsibilities will include managing direct customer relationships, rapidly implementing features and fixes across multiple codebases, influencing the product roadmap based on customer feedback, and helping grow our engineering team. You'll work with various programming languages including TypeScript, Python, and Rust, while utilizing modern tech stack components like Next.js, Claude + Bedrock for LLM, and AWS cloud infrastructure.

We're looking for someone with 3+ years of software development experience, strong communication skills, and significant TypeScript expertise. Experience with OpenAPI, Conjure, or Smithy is a plus.
