Responsibilities For Linux System Engineer
- Maintain, monitor, and optimize Linux systems to ensure high availability and performance
- Automate tasks using Python, Bash, Ansible and Rundeck
- Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and network issues in a fast-paced trading environment
- Deploy and manage configuration automation tools like Ansible and Salt
- Manage life cycle of Linux servers from OS deployment to system configuration
- Support AWS/GCP cloud environments using infrastructure as code
- Work with developers to optimize application performance and system resources
- Ensure system security through best practices, patching, and monitoring
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical system issues
- Research and evaluate new technologies to improve efficiency and scalability
Requirements For Linux System Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in Linux system administration (Red Hat, CentOS or Rocky preferred)
- Experience managing Docker images and clusters like Docker Swarm, Nomad, or Kubernetes
- Experience with managing AWS/GCP infrastructure as code using Terraform
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible and Salt
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or a similar language
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, multicast, DNS, firewalls)
- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or similar)
- Understanding of low-latency trading environments is a plus
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-performance environment
