Description For Associate Customer Engineer, gReach Program for People with Disabilities (English, Japanese)

The gReach Program at Google is a unique 12-month paid upskilling initiative designed specifically for industry professionals with disabilities. This role, based in Tokyo, Japan, is part of the Japan Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry team, focusing on supporting Google Cloud and Google Workspace customers.

As an Associate Customer Engineer, you'll work in a Pre-Sales assistant capacity, supporting team operations and developing both technical and business skills under experienced mentorship. The position involves helping Account Executives solve technical issues for customers, including developers, partners, and business users.

The role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, offering opportunities to develop project management and presentation skills. You'll be part of Google Cloud's mission to accelerate digital transformation across industries, working with cutting-edge technology and enterprise-grade solutions.

Responsibilities For Associate Customer Engineer, gReach Program for People with Disabilities (English, Japanese)

  • Clean, analyze, and input data into the system for reports
  • Maintain project progress, schedules and operation manuals, identify risks, and clearly communicate goals to project stakeholders
  • Develop skills in the role through mentorship and guidance of the Customer Engineering team supporting technical opportunities for customers
  • Develop presentations and demos with Customer Engineers to take a prospect successfully through the evaluation process

Requirements For Associate Customer Engineer, gReach Program for People with Disabilities (English, Japanese)

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other quantitative fields (e.g., Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience in programming or in infrastructure/system administration
  • Ability to communicate in English and Japanese fluently to engage and support customers
  • Must have a government-issued disability certificate
