Description For Cloud Security Platform Engineer

Google Public Sector is seeking a Cloud Security Platform Engineer to join their team in protecting and securing cloud infrastructure. This role combines security expertise with cloud platform knowledge, requiring 5 years of experience in security engineering and coding.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $161,000-$239,000 plus additional benefits including equity, bonuses, and comprehensive healthcare coverage. As part of Google's security team, you'll work to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with SOC teams, developing incident response protocols, and leading security investigations. You'll be working with cutting-edge security tools and technologies, monitoring and analyzing security telemetry from various sources including SIEM, CASB, and CSPM.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in security assessments, threat modeling, and security engineering. An active US Government Top Secret Security Clearance is required. The role offers the flexibility of remote work within the United States.

Responsibilities For Cloud Security Platform Engineer

  • Collaborate with internal SOC teams and customers to drive cloud security monitoring and incident response
  • Develop and mature incident response protocols tailored for cloud security events, minimizing impact and recovery time
  • Create and refine operational playbooks for cloud security investigations, threat hunting, and incident triage
  • Monitor and analyze cloud security telemetry from SIEM, CASB, CSPM, and other security tools to detect and respond to threats
  • Lead incident response efforts for cloud related security events, conducting thorough analysis and root cause investigations

Requirements For Cloud Security Platform Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling
  • 5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols
  • 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages
  • Active US Government Top Secret Security Clearance
