Description For Data Center Operations Facilities Manager

Google is seeking a Data Center Operations Facilities Manager to lead their 24/7 data center operations team. This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, focusing on maintaining and optimizing critical infrastructure that powers Google's vast service portfolio. The position offers a unique blend of facilities management and technical operations, requiring someone who can balance team leadership with hands-on technical oversight.

The role involves managing service-level agreements (SLAs) with internal teams, focusing on uptime, efficiencies, and cost optimization. You'll be responsible for growing and developing the campus team, ensuring environmental and safety standards are met, and responding to emergency situations effectively. The position requires someone who can think strategically about reducing operational costs while improving data center efficiency.

As part of Google's Technical Infrastructure team, you'll work behind the scenes to maintain the architecture that keeps Google's products running smoothly. The team takes pride in being the "engineers' engineers," focusing on maintaining and improving Google's network infrastructure to ensure the best possible user experience.

The position offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $99,000-$145,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Requirements For Data Center Operations Facilities Manager

Linux
  • Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7 years of experience in operations, data center, or facility operations experience
  • 2 years of experience in critical facilities management, including facility, technical, and team management
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills
