Data Center Technician, Technical Operations

Google's Hardware Operations team is seeking a Data Center Technician to join their Technical Operations division. This role is crucial in maintaining Google's state-of-the-art physical infrastructure that powers their search technology. As a Data Center Technician, you'll be hands-on with server hardware and software, working in a dynamic environment that's at the cutting edge of computer technology.

The position offers a comprehensive compensation package including a base salary range of $73,500-$103,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. You'll be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware components and server software, including Google's Linux cluster. The role involves physical work with server racks and requires technical expertise in networking protocols and infrastructure maintenance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience who has a strong background in IT equipment repair and operating systems. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with Linux systems, have some coding experience, and be able to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting equipment and working non-standard hours.
