Description For Fleet Automation Support Engineer

Google's Hardware Operations team is seeking a Fleet Automation Support Engineer to join their Technical Infrastructure team. This role is crucial in maintaining and deploying Google's advanced Data Center Server and Network Infrastructure. As part of the team responsible for Google's physical infrastructure, you'll work with state-of-the-art automation systems and robotics, ensuring the smooth operation of data center technologies.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work with Google's cutting-edge data center technology while collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver critical projects. You'll be responsible for system acceptance testing, maintenance procedures, and providing technical expertise for automation systems. This role combines hands-on technical work with strategic planning and process improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation systems, particularly PLC-driven solutions, and experience with mechanical equipment maintenance. Responsibilities For Fleet Automation Support Engineer

  • Sign-off on System Acceptance Tests (SysAT) by following the turn over process
  • Define SLA/SLO requirements and track system performance
  • Advocate for new product design and development, drive training, and support of End User/Operators
  • Review and update automation and robotics systems maintenance procedures
  • Lead process improvements of automation and robotics systems into Data Center Operations
  • Oversee firmware, software, hardware updates, upgrades, and identify fleet health issues
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades and provide in-field support

Requirements For Fleet Automation Support Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Control and Automation Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) driven automation and safety systems
  • Experience with troubleshooting, diagnosing, maintenance, and monitoring of industrial automation solutions
  • Experience in monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment
  • English proficiency is required
