Description For Manufacturing Test Engineering, Rack Integration

Google's Manufacturing Operations team is seeking a Manufacturing Test Development Engineer to join their Cloud Supply Chain and Operations (CSCO) team. This role focuses on evaluating Machine Learning, Compute and Storage, and Networking rack product designs while creating manufacturing test processes, tools, and procedures for Google's Cloud Hardware Technologies. The position requires expertise in manufacturing test development, automation, and hardware integration.

The role involves working with Google's custom-designed equipment, which comprises one of the largest computing infrastructures globally. You'll be responsible for ensuring manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled, collaborating with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to meet Google's infrastructure needs and product specifications. The position requires strong technical skills in embedded software, test automation with Python, and deep understanding of networking fundamentals.

As a Manufacturing Test Engineer, you'll be part of the Technical Infrastructure team that builds and maintains Google's data centers and platforms. The role combines hands-on technical work with strategic planning, requiring both engineering expertise and collaborative skills. You'll work on developing automated test software, conducting code reviews, debugging test failures, and designing test platforms for Google's global manufacturing partners.

Requirements For Manufacturing Test Engineering, Rack Integration

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in embedded software or test automation with Python
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals in PCIe, Ethernet, and TCP/IP
  • Experience with developing manufacturing test hardware using electronics, fixturing, and instrumentation
