Responsibilities For Mechanical Cooling Systems Engineer, Data Center Technology Systems

  • Evaluate, design, and optimize liquid cooling components (cold plates, manifolds, heat exchangers, fan coils) for seamless integration with accelerator designs
  • Conduct detailed thermal and hydraulic simulations using CFD and pipe flow analysis (AFT Fathom) to model fluid flow, heat transfer, and pressure drop, optimizing designs for efficiency and reliability
  • Apply expertise in data center cooling systems, hydronic analysis, CDUs, and chip-to-chiller architectures to optimize cooling designs for data center environments
  • Apply product design principles (DFMEA, DFM) and conduct experimental validation to ensure thermal model accuracy and cooling system performance

Requirements For Mechanical Cooling Systems Engineer, Data Center Technology Systems

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in thermal management systems design, with a focus on liquid cooling
  • 5 years of experience in thermal and hydraulic analysis tools (CFD, FEA, flow network modeling)
  • 5 years of experience with data center, manufacturing or mission critical facilities cooling systems, hydronic analysis, Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs) and chip-to-chiller architectures
