Description For Program Manager III, Supplier Sourcing, Google Cloud

Google Cloud is seeking a Program Manager III for Supplier Sourcing to join their Cloud Supply Chain and Operations team. This role is part of the Supplier Strategy, Governance, and Category Management team, focusing on warehousing and data center third-party Labor/Logistics categories across Cloud Infrastructure. The position offers a competitive salary range of $147,000-$216,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

The role requires 5 years of program/project management experience and expertise in supplier sourcing and contract negotiations. You'll be responsible for developing category strategy roadmaps, participating in thought leadership, collaborating with stakeholders, and managing supplier selection processes. The ideal candidate should have experience with third-party logistics, risk management, and global commodity management.

As part of Google's Technical Infrastructure team, you'll work behind the scenes to keep the company's technology running smoothly. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining data centers, building next-generation Google platforms, and ensuring networks operate at peak performance. You'll be part of a team that takes pride in being "engineers' engineers" and maintains Google's vast product portfolio.

The position offers opportunities to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working with stakeholders across offices, time zones, and hemispheres.   • Develop and maintain a comprehensive category strategy roadmap that includes a detailed analysis of current and future supplier capabilities, identifying opportunities for innovation
  • Participate in thought leadership to Center of Excellence (CoE) communities, sharing best practices, developing performance models, and driving continuous improvement in category management
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across different departments to ensure alignment between strategies and overall business objectives with a focus on achieving key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Leverage knowledge in supplier contracting to lead strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiate favorable contract terms and implement effective spend management strategies
  • Develop and manage a supplier selection process that incorporates market analysis, industry practices, technology solutions, and pre-qualification tools to identify and onboard high-performing providers

Requirements For Program Manager III, Supplier Sourcing, Google Cloud

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience with supplier sourcing and negotiating vendor contracts
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
  • Experience working with third-party logistics partners and extended workforce providers
  • Experience within the risk management space, including risk assessment, risk reporting, audit, compliance, or risk management standards
  • Experience with global commodity management
