Description For Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure, Core

Google's Core team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. This role focuses on developing large-scale infrastructure and distributed systems that power Google's essential services. You'll be working on critical projects that impact billions of users, developing next-generation technologies across areas like distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, and data storage.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Core team, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the fundamental building blocks that enable Google's products to operate at massive scale. You'll collaborate with teams across Google to create central solutions, break down technical barriers, and strengthen existing systems. The role requires strong technical leadership, with opportunities to influence important technical decisions across the company.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in software development, system architecture, and large-scale distributed systems.   • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve issues

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products
  • 1 year of experience with software design and architecture
  • 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks
