Description For Software Engineer, Early Career, Chrome

Google is seeking an Early Career Software Engineer to join their Chrome team, which is dedicated to building a better, more open web. The role involves working on Chrome browser development across multiple platforms including iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS. As part of Google's engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to work on technologies that impact billions of users, focusing on areas like information retrieval, distributed computing, system design, security, AI, and UI design.

The position offers the chance to contribute to Chrome's open source project, helping advance web innovations in speed, simplicity and security. You'll be responsible for writing code, participating in design reviews, reviewing others' code, contributing to documentation, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. The role requires strong programming skills in languages like Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript.

  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues
