Description For Software Engineer III, Augmented Reality

Google's Augmented Reality Team is seeking a Software Engineer III to join their motion tracking team, focusing on world-sensing technology and calibration systems. This role is part of Google's mission to revolutionize how people interact with information through AR.

The position involves working on foundational technology that enables devices to track and understand their surroundings in real-time, specifically within the calibration and system test (CaST) team. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and validating calibration and verification algorithms for AR platforms, which are crucial for delivering exceptional AR experiences.

As a Software Engineer III, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop next-generation calibration and system test methodologies for AR devices. The role requires expertise in C++ and Python programming, along with strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. Experience with computer vision, robotics, or sensor calibration is highly valued.

The position offers competitive compensation ($141,000-$202,000 base salary) plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. You'll be working at one of two primary locations: Mountain View, CA or Kirkland, WA, joining a diverse team of experts focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions through mobile devices.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about AR technology who wants to work on cutting-edge problems in computer vision, sensor calibration, and real-time tracking systems. You'll be contributing to technology that aims to give people "superhuman abilities" by making information instantly and intuitively accessible through AR.
