Description For Software Engineer III, Infrastructure, Core

Google's Core team is seeking a Software Engineer III to join their Infrastructure division. This role is fundamental to Google's technical foundation, working on the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure that power Google's flagship products. The Core team has a unique mandate to impact technical decisions across the company, building central solutions and strengthening existing systems.

As a Software Engineer III, you'll be responsible for developing next-generation technologies that influence billions of users' interactions. The role requires expertise in large-scale system design, distributed computing, and infrastructure development. You'll work on critical projects with opportunities to switch teams as both you and the business evolve.

The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise to manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You'll be involved in designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. Responsibilities For Software Engineer III, Infrastructure, Core

  • Write product or system development code
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues

Requirements For Software Engineer III, Infrastructure, Core

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting
