Description For Staff Application Engineer, Spaces Engineering

Google's Spaces Engineering team is seeking a Staff Application Engineer to lead the development, integration, and maintenance of complex enterprise systems within the Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) domain. This role is part of Corp Eng, Google's IT organization that builds world-leading business solutions that scale across Google.

As a Staff Application Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the development of internal solutions, designing integration strategies, and ensuring compliance with controls and regulations. You'll work on custom front-end and back-end services to automate and improve REWS business processes, while taking ownership of vendor application integration lifecycles.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience (12+ years) in Java or Python, along with strong backgrounds in Software System Design, API Development, and Enterprise Architecture. Knowledge of real estate management systems is essential. You'll be working at Google's Hyderabad office, contributing to systems that impact Google's global real estate and workplace services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior technical leader who can drive innovation while ensuring reliability, scalability, and security of mission-critical applications. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across REWS and other functions, translating complex business requirements into robust technical solutions that serve Google's scale and demands.

Responsibilities For Staff Application Engineer, Spaces Engineering

  • Drive the development of internal solutions using custom front-end and back-end services to automate and improve REWS business processes
  • Design and implement integration strategies that connect diverse systems and platforms
  • Define and enforce processes and solutions to ensure compliance with relevant controls and regulations
  • Take ownership of the entire lifecycle of integrating vendor-supplied applications
  • Lead efforts to design and develop features that enhance the reliability and performance of REWS applications and systems

Requirements For Staff Application Engineer, Spaces Engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience
  • 12 years of experience in Java or Python
  • Experience in Software System Design, Application programming interface (API) Development, Enterprise Architecture Development and Software Development Lifecycle
  • Experience with real estate management systems or integrated workplace management systems
