Staff Frontend Engineer, Payroll Experiences

Gusto is hiring engineers to join the Payroll Experiences team to work on systems that empower customer-facing products and develop features that help define the customer journey. The team's main goal is to keep customers happy and deliver a consistently great experience for running payroll for their employees.

As a Staff Frontend Engineer on the Payroll Experiences team, you will:

• Build and maintain a system of reusable UI components and documentation using React.js, Typescript, Javascript, CSS, and HTML.
• Develop tools to ensure the quality, performance, and accessibility of Gusto's reusable components.
• Coordinate across teams in building accessible, modular, performant frontend experiences.
• Create and improve tools for developing performant, accessible experiences for customers.
• Make architectural improvements to Gusto's frontend infrastructure.
• Optionally, build and maintain APIs using Ruby.

Key qualifications:

• 5+ years of technical experience in a frontend engineering or full stack engineering role.
• Highly proficient in front-end Javascript technologies, preferably React.js or Typescript.
• Experience in building UI components that are modular, composable, flexible, maintainable, and well-documented.
• Strong history of cross-functional collaboration with Design and other non-technical teams.
• Experience with JavaScript testing libraries for unit, integration, and end-to-end validation.
• Passion for creating inclusive, accessible experiences for everyone.
