Description For Storage Developer

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is a premier quantitative trading firm at the forefront of algorithmic trading innovation. We're seeking a Storage Developer to enhance our data storage infrastructure that powers our trading strategies. This role combines deep C++ expertise with distributed systems knowledge to build and maintain critical storage solutions at scale.

You'll join a collaborative team of exceptional developers working on cutting-edge storage systems that directly impact our research capabilities. The position requires strong technical skills in C++, distributed systems design, and Linux environments, along with the ability to balance detailed implementation with strategic thinking.

Responsibilities For Storage Developer

  • Work with a small team to create distributed storage systems customized to fit HRT's needs
  • Stay informed about the current 'state of the art' and help bridge the gap
  • Understand Research team's storage and compute needs and build for next generation research

Requirements For Storage Developer

Linux
  • Proficient C++ experience with daily use preferred
  • Distributed systems experience
  • Ability to work productively in a Linux environment
  • Knowledge of UNIX operating systems, low-level systems-level performance issues, and networking
  • Experience with databases, distributed filesystems, or search infrastructure (preferred)
