Description For Staff Analog Design Engineer

Impinj is seeking a Staff Analog Design Engineer to join their silicon engineering team, working on next-generation tag and reader chips. This role is part of a dynamic team of top-tier silicon designers focused on advancing RFID technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specify and architect advanced RFID reader ICs
  • Create design specifications and review documents
  • Implement low-power and low-voltage RF and Analog circuits using advanced deep-submicron CMOS technologies
  • Characterize designs in the lab to validate product functionality and performance
  • Collaborate with digital and software developers to meet system requirements

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience with a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering
  • Advanced ability to translate RF transceiver system requirements into circuit-level specifications
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Hands-on experience designing RF/Analog integrated circuits (LNA, Mixer, RF VGAs, PA, VCO, PLL, Regulators, ADC/DAC) in deep sub-micron CMOS technologies
  • Strong understanding of phase noise generation and mitigation
  • Proficiency with IC design CAD tools (Spectre, Specter, EMX)
  • Thorough understanding of physical layout requirements
  • Lab testing skills for prototype evaluation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
