Instrumentl is seeking a Growth Engineer to join their mission-driven startup that's revolutionizing how nonprofits discover and manage grants. As a hypergrowth YC-backed startup with over 4,000 nonprofit clients, including organizations like the San Diego Zoo and University of Alaska, we've helped our customers secure over $6.7 billion in grant funding since 2015.
The role combines technical expertise with a strong focus on driving growth metrics through experimentation and feature development. You'll be working with Ruby on Rails to build and deploy experiments that enhance user experiences across the acquisition, activation, and retention funnel. This position requires collaboration with Product, Marketing, Design, and Data teams to ensure our product maintains its market-leading position.
What makes this role unique is its impact on social progress. Our customers are organizations working on meaningful causes - from educating children to saving endangered species and restoring watersheds. Your work will directly contribute to empowering these nonprofits to secure more funding and increase their impact.
The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of software engineering experience, with strong Ruby on Rails expertise and comfort with front-end technologies. You should be passionate about experimentation, data-driven decision making, and delivering exceptional user experiences. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is excited about our mission to transform nonprofit fundraising.
We offer competitive compensation ($120,000-$160,000/year + equity), comprehensive benefits including fully covered health insurance, 401(k), generous PTO, and regular company retreats. While we're fully distributed, we're looking for someone who can maintain significant overlap with Pacific Time Zone working hours, with an option to work from our Oakland office.
At Instrumentl, you'll join a customer-focused, experimental, and collaborative culture where authenticity is valued and everyone's voice matters. We're cash flow positive, doubling year-over-year, and maintain high customer satisfaction (NPS 65+). If you're excited about using technology to help nonprofits make a bigger impact, this could be your opportunity to make a difference.
