Back-end Engineer II

Inversion is revolutionizing space transportation by developing highly maneuverable re-entry vehicles capable of precision landing back on Earth. As a Back-end Engineer II, you'll join their simulation team to architect and maintain the server-side logic supporting critical flight systems testing environments.

The role combines cutting-edge space technology with modern software engineering practices. You'll work on high-performance computing systems, software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing environments. Your responsibilities include designing scalable back-end architectures, implementing robust APIs, and developing efficient data pipelines that enable rapid iteration in the development lifecycle.

This position requires 6+ years of professional experience and deep expertise in back-end engineering. You'll need proficiency in scripting languages, experience with Linux systems, and familiarity with modern DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will have additional expertise in database administration, SaaS/PaaS development, or network administration.

Located in Playa Vista, CA, this role offers a competitive salary range of $121,000 - $142,000 and requires in-office presence. The position demands ITAR compliance, requiring US citizenship, permanent residency, or protected individual status.
