Description For Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Mainframe DB2

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector - Mainframe team, you will have the opportunity to apply and evolve your deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. You will be part of a global and diverse team, working on high priority incidents and projects, and promoting the modernization of our organization and its technology processes.

The role involves working closely with mainframe z/OS system programming teams to maintain and optimize IBM Mainframe Db2 environments. You'll be responsible for installing and configuring IBM Db2 V12 & V13 subsystems, managing system maintenance, and collaborating with database administrators to resolve production issues. This position requires expertise in infrastructure engineering, particularly in mainframe technologies and database systems.

Responsibilities For Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Mainframe DB2

  • Work in partnership with mainframe z/OS system programming teams to install and maintain a secure and healthy IBM Mainframe Db2 environment
  • Install and configure IBM Db2 V12 & V13 subsystems, manage SMP/E target/distribution libraries
  • Work with Db2 database administrators to triage, mitigate and permanently resolve day-to-day production issues
  • Manage IBM software maintenance
  • Perform on-call duties within on on-call shift rotation
  • Collaborate with IBM and other infrastructure software vendors on high priority incidents
  • Drive work streams or projects consisting of infrastructure engineering technologies
  • Execute creative solutions for design, development, and technical troubleshooting

Requirements For Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Mainframe DB2

  • 5+ years of applied experience in infrastructure disciplines
  • Extensive background with IBM Db2 systems programming experience in mainframe z/OS operating system
  • Experience with supporting and upgrading IBM Db2 V12 & V13 subsystems
  • Deep knowledge of infrastructure engineering
  • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies
  • Experience with scripting languages
  • Knowledge of software engineering concepts
