Kong, the leader in cloud native API platforms with over 300 million downloads of their API gateway, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Insomnia team. Insomnia, acquired in 2019, is a full-lifecycle API development platform that has become crucial to Kong's product portfolio. As a senior engineer, you'll work on the desktop Insomnia application, CLI, and related products with a globally distributed team.
The role combines technical expertise with community engagement, requiring strong coding abilities and excellent communication skills. You'll be instrumental in maintaining engineering standards, reviewing code, and creating meaningful product experiences. The position offers the flexibility of remote work from Canada, with competitive compensation ranging from CAD $144,780 to $202,825.

Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer, (Insomnia)
- Work with a global team of engineers, designers, and leaders to create meaningful product experiences
- Engage with the Insomnia open source community
- Help maintain strong and healthy engineering standards by engaging in discussions, reviewing decisions and pull requests
- Build and maintain the desktop Insomnia application, the accompanying insomnia CLI, and other adjacent products
Requirements For Senior Software Engineer, (Insomnia)
- Strong coding skills, with an emphasis on building understandable and maintainable software while collaborating with others
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
