Description For Staff DevSecOps Engineer

KUBRA, a Hearst subsidiary, is seeking a Staff DevSecOps Engineer to join their team in a hybrid role based in Mississauga, ON. This 12-month contract position focuses on strengthening the company's security infrastructure and practices. The role combines hands-on technical implementation with strategic security guidance, working within regulated sectors. The ideal candidate will help accelerate new application development while ensuring robust security measures are embedded in the development process.

Responsibilities For Staff DevSecOps Engineer

  • Design and implement security related aspects of the KUBRA cloud platform environment including firewalls and CI/CD pipelines
  • Work with product engineering teams to implement fraud mitigation features
  • Provide secure software development lifecycle coaching
  • Provide architectural security guidance for compliance with industry standards
  • Review and suggest enhancements for security of software supply chain
  • Maintain vulnerability and patch management processes
  • Work with KUBRA Security team for incident response

Requirements For Staff DevSecOps Engineer

  • Experience with 'Security as Code'
  • Proficiency in AWS public cloud technologies
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes particularly Amazon EKS
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes Admission controllers and OPA
  • Familiar with CNAPP tools like Sysdig and Wiz
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Proficient using Golang (Go)
  • Scripting and automation skills (APIs, Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and responsible
