Description For Cybersecurity Engineer (Clearance)

Latitude Inc is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer with active SECRET clearance to join their team in Springfield, VA. This role focuses on providing cyber system architecture and engineering expertise for Army cloud instantiations. The position requires extensive experience in Risk Management Framework Cloud (RMFc), security documentation, and implementation of cybersecurity controls.

The ideal candidate will serve as a cyber subject matter expert, providing technical advice and developing cyber security policies and threat models. They will be responsible for supporting C5ISR efforts and expanding CSSP offerings. The role involves working with various cloud service models and shared services, ensuring proper security implementation and documentation.

Key responsibilities include supporting business continuity activities, managing disaster recovery operations, implementing data security measures throughout the cloud environment lifecycle, and providing expertise in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems. The position requires strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity standards (FISMA, NIST, OMB) and experience with incident response and SOC operations.

Responsibilities For Cybersecurity Engineer (Clearance)

  • Serve as a cyber subject matter expert
  • Provide cyber system architecture and engineering expertise
  • Support the Risk Management Framework Cloud (RMFc) process
  • Review and make recommendations of customer RMFc documentation
  • Support business continuity activities and disaster recovery operations
  • Support data security throughout the lifecycle in cloud environments
  • Provide expertise in SIEM system selection and deployment
  • Monitor and analyze potential threat activity
  • Run vulnerability and patching reports
  • Develop security artifacts including System Security Plans (SSP)
  • Review vulnerability scan results and implement mitigations

Requirements For Cybersecurity Engineer (Clearance)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or IT related field
  • Active IAM III certification
  • 7+ years professional experience in a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Army, DoD, or IC at the Headquarters level
  • Active SECRET clearance (or higher)
  • Strong working knowledge of large, complex IT environments
  • Experience implementing solutions and services in a similar sized organization
  • Expert communication skills both oral and written
  • Strong technical writing expertise
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team-oriented environment
