Description For Full-Stack Engineer

Lightly is an innovative ETH spin-off focused on solving a critical challenge in machine learning: helping ML teams select the most impactful data for labeling. With the exponential growth of data outpacing human labeling capacity and available compute power, most teams can only afford to label 1% or less of their datasets. Lightly's software solution helps identify and work with the most representative samples, significantly improving model accuracy without increasing costs.

As a Full-Stack Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our core product development, working directly with our talented team of developers and researchers in Zurich. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing new features across the stack, with a particular focus on building robust database, API, workers, and cloud storage solutions. Your role will be crucial in developing high-performance, scalable architecture capable of handling millions of data points.

We're a small but ambitious team backed by top investors, offering an attractive compensation package including both cash and equity to become a part-owner of Lightly. Every team member has a massive impact on our success, and we're looking for experienced engineers who share our passion for improving machine learning workflows.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing new features across the entire stack
  • Building critical infrastructure components focusing on DB, API, workers, and cloud storage
  • Architecting scalable solutions for processing millions of data points
  • Maintaining high engineering standards and bringing consistency to codebases
  • Researching and implementing cutting-edge technologies

This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge ML infrastructure, solve complex technical challenges, and make a significant impact in the field of machine learning optimization. Remote work options are available, making this an ideal position for someone who values flexibility while working on meaningful technical challenges.
