Director, Software Engineering

LinkedIn is seeking a Director to lead the Security Foundations Engineering (SFE) team within the Information Security organization. This hybrid role will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of security solutions for large-scale distributed systems and microservices.

The Director will oversee critical areas including Identity, Access, Crypto/Key Management, and Vulnerability Management, ensuring solutions meet security, performance, and organizational goals. They will lead the execution of large-scale programs and guide strategic direction of security architecture.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing management practices to improve reliability, quality and performance of security services
• Driving short, medium and long term roadmap for security services supporting LinkedIn's infrastructure
• Leading and mentoring a high-performing security infrastructure team
• Partnering with cross-functional Engineering teams to integrate security solutions
• Managing full lifecycle operations of security systems

The ideal candidate brings:

• 10+ years security engineering leadership experience
• Deep expertise in building/deploying security architecture at scale
• Strong background in distributed systems and cloud technologies
• Experience with cryptographic systems at scale
• Track record of implementing successful cybersecurity strategies
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
