This is a hybrid role that combines remote work with office presence, leading a team of 40+ engineers focused on ensuring the reliability of LinkedIn's critical infrastructure systems.

The role requires an experienced technology leader with 15+ years of engineering leadership experience, particularly in DevOps and infrastructure management. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the strategic vision and technical direction for the SRE organization, focusing on scaling systems to meet evolving business needs while advancing the tech migration roadmap.

Key responsibilities include driving API-first approaches for infrastructure lifecycle management, implementing automation to reduce operational toil, and ensuring robust observability across systems. The role requires deep expertise in cloud computing platforms, container orchestration, and infrastructure as code, along with strong experience with monitoring tools and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Set the strategic vision, technical direction and develop execution roadmap for the organization
  • Build and maintain a high-performing engineering team of 40+ SREs
  • Drive APIs first approach for operations of infrastructure life cycle management
  • Provide observability and deep actionable insights into infrastructure health and drift
  • Drive automation, reduce operational toil, and foster culture of continuous improvement
  • Collaborate closely with software development teams to ensure reliability of LinkedIn's streaming, batch processing, data lake and online serving document store ecosystems

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 15+ years in Engineering leadership focused on dev/ops based roles leading teams of engineers of size 40+
  • 8+ years of building software to simplifying operations and reducing toil in managing large scale infrastructure
  • 8+ years experience in Cloud data infrastructure, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Hadoop infrastructure
  • Proficiency in cloud computing platforms, Linux-based systems, container orchestration, and infrastructure as code
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
