Responsibilities For Director, Software Engineering, Site Reliability
- Set strategic vision and technical direction for SRE organization of 40+ engineers
- Drive APIs first approach for infrastructure lifecycle management
- Provide observability and insights into infrastructure health
- Lead automation and operational efficiency initiatives
- Collaborate with software development teams to ensure reliability of streaming, batch processing, data lake and document store systems
- Drive tech migration roadmap and scaling systems
Requirements For Director, Software Engineering, Site Reliability
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field
- 15+ years in Engineering leadership focused on dev/ops based roles leading teams of 40+
- 8+ years of building software to simplify operations and reduce toil in managing large scale infrastructure
- 8+ years experience with Cloud data infrastructure, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Hadoop or equivalent
- Proficiency in cloud computing platforms, Linux systems, and container orchestration
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools
- Background in hands-on development with Python, Go, Java or Ruby
- Experience attracting and developing top engineering talent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
