The DataHub team is responsible for developing and maintaining DataHub, LinkedIn's metadata management platform that catalogs datasets. This critical platform helps employees find and access datasets, resolve data pipeline issues, and manage ownership and compliance. The platform serves various internal users, from product engineering teams to business operations, ensuring data is discoverable, understandable, actionable, and governable.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll lead both front-end and back-end architecture for internal tools, working with a world-class engineering team. The role involves collaborating with partners across global locations, including the US and Ireland, to optimize workflow efficiency and enhance data ownership coverage. You'll be instrumental in developing features like dataset role management and integration with real-time data processing engines.
The ideal candidate brings 9+ years of programming experience, strong expertise in full-stack development using React/JavaScript, and experience with API development. Requirements For Staff Software Engineer - Full Stack
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 9+ years of programming experience in an object-oriented programming language
- Experience with Full Stack Web Development using JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular
- Experience with building APIs using programming languages like Java/C++/Python
- Experience building web applications and services with IDEs and general development practices
- Expert level knowledge of JavaScript and React.js
- Experience in data related domain
- Experience in open-source projects and/or academic research in large data
