Meta is seeking an ASIC Engineer, Architecture to join their Infrastructure organization, which is responsible for building and maintaining the data centers that host services like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge machine learning accelerators for data center efficiency. As an ASIC Engineer, you'll collaborate with AI/ML experts to evaluate algorithms, develop functional and performance models, and architect state-of-the-art machine learning ASICs. The position involves working with a diverse team of experts to create "Green" data center accelerators.
The role combines hardware architecture with machine learning expertise, requiring strong technical skills in computer architecture, programming, and system design. You'll be responsible for implementing and analyzing algorithms for Machine Learning SoCs, developing performance models, and working across teams to ensure successful deployment of these systems.

The position offers competitive compensation including base salary ranging from $114,000 to $166,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The role requires a strong educational background in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, with at least 2 years of programming experience. You'll be working in either Sunnyvale, CA or Austin, TX, contributing to Meta's mission of building technologies that help people connect and communities grow.
Responsibilities For ASIC Engineer, Machine Learning Architecture
- Implement and analyze algorithms and architectures targeting Machine Learning SoCs
- Analyze and map data center workloads to ASIC architecture
- Develop performance and functional models at different levels of abstraction to validate the architecture
- Work with cross functional partners in ASIC design, verification, silicon bring-up, firmware and software development
- Implement architecture documentation and other collateral necessary for the use and integration of designs
Requirements For ASIC Engineer, Machine Learning Architecture
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field
- Computer architecture coursework covering microprocessor architecture, memory systems and on-chip interconnection networks
- 2+ years of experience with programming skills in C, C++, Python or other Object Oriented Programming Language
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment
