Meta is seeking an experienced Production Systems Engineer to join their Release to Production (RTP) team in Dublin. This role sits at the intersection of hardware and software, managing the end-to-end Hardware Lifecycle of Meta's vast server infrastructure. The position offers a unique opportunity to work on problems ranging from microscopic CPU-level issues to large-scale fleet deployments affecting millions of servers.
The RTP team plays a crucial role in maintaining Meta's infrastructure, working closely with various teams including Production Engineering, Enterprise Networking, Hardware Designers, and Datacenter Operations. The ideal candidate will come from a background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Software Engineering, or DevOps, bringing strong technical abilities and experience in managing complex systems.
This role offers the chance to work on critical infrastructure that powers Meta's family of apps and services, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and their emerging virtual and augmented reality technologies. You'll be responsible for building automation tools, troubleshooting complex system failures, and developing expertise in specialized areas such as Firmware Deployment, Edge/CDN hardware, or Silicon Sustaining.

Responsibilities For Production Systems Engineer, Hardware
- Build and develop tooling solutions to automate business critical processes in service of managing the health of the Meta production fleet
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and root cause system failures, working with key partners to identify and deliver solutions
- Proactively identify opportunities to fix or enhance tooling, hardware and processes
- Build subject matter expertise in specialist areas: Firmware Deployment, Edge/CDN hardware, or Silicon Sustaining
Requirements For Production Systems Engineer, Hardware
- Bachelors degree in computer science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
- 6+ years experience coding in a higher-level language (Python, PHP, Java, Go, Rust, C++)
- Experience building, maintaining and debugging production services or platforms - usually in a linux/unix environment
- Knowledge of server architecture and components across Compute/Storage/AI Systems/Networking
- Scientific approach to troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and investigation
- Good communication skills, able to collaborate easily with others
