Meta Reality Labs is seeking a Research Engineer to help unleash human potential by eliminating bottlenecks between intent and action. The role involves building a practical neural interface using non-invasive electromyography (EMG). The research spans computational neuroscience, machine learning, signal processing, statistics, biophysics, motor learning, AR/VR, and human-computer interaction.
As a Research Engineer, you will:
- Implement and accelerate the EMG machine learning platform
- Create new AI models, tools, and infrastructure
- Productionize research results
- Collaborate with scientists, software engineers, hardware engineers, and designers
Responsibilities include:
- Researching and developing Deep Learning models for Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, and EMG signal processing
- Designing methods and tools to analyze multimodal data sets
- Collaborating on innovative deep learning models for EMG-based AR/VR interaction
- Defining short-term research goals
- Transitioning research into product
- Adapting machine learning methods for modern parallel environments
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience developing machine learning models at scale
- Research experience in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, or NLP
- Programming experience in Python and frameworks like PyTorch
- Understanding of large-scale software application architecture
Preferred qualifications:
- Ph.D. and publications in relevant fields
- First-author publications at peer-reviewed AI conferences
- Rapid prototyping and software development skills
- Experience in productizing research results
