Microsoft's Azure WAN Team is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to join their growing team. This role combines networking expertise with software development fundamentals, focusing on the global backbone network. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and building networking and automation components for the Wide Area Network, working closely with Azure Networking partners.

Responsibilities For Cloud Network Engineer
- Develop knowledge of network technologies to aid in network design, implementation, and operation
- Assist in designing reliable, scalable, and high-performance network features or components
- Develop understanding of quality assurance and network/code review processes
- Contribute to development/modification of network automation tools
- Manage network deployments within a team using machine-readable network definitions
Requirements For Cloud Network Engineer
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field OR 2+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
- Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years
- Experience with routing protocols such as BGP, ISIS and Segment Routing (preferred)
- Professional software development experience in networking domain, including Python, YAML or C# (preferred)
- Network engineering experience in cloud provider, internet service provider or large enterprise environment (preferred)
