Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team is seeking a Critical Environment Instrumentation Engineer (CEIE) to join their datacenter operations team. This role is crucial in maintaining and managing the industrial control systems that power Microsoft's global datacenter infrastructure.
The position involves working in Microsoft's 24x7x365 mission-critical datacenters, which comprise over 200 facilities across 32 countries. As a CEIE, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and security of industrial control systems that support Microsoft's cloud services, including Azure, Office 365, Bing, and Xbox.
Key responsibilities include maintaining ICS availability, managing site-level programs, governing access controls, and participating in global initiatives. The role requires a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, with experience in industrial control systems and building automation.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 2 years of technical experience. Knowledge of Modbus and BACnet protocols, along with experience in building electrical and mechanical systems, is essential. The position requires obtaining security clearances and passing background checks.
