Description For Member of Technical Staff - Full Stack Engineer

Microsoft AI (MAI) is seeking experienced Full Stack Engineers to help build mission applications and platform components for our personal AI, Copilot systems. This role is part of Microsoft's ambitious vision to build systems with true artificial intelligence across agents, applications, services, and infrastructure.

The Data Platform team is responsible for building core data pipelines that help fine-tune models, support introspection and retrospection of data to constantly evolve and improve human AI interactions. The ideal candidate will possess technical prowess, a methodical approach to problem-solving, proficiency in distributed systems, and mastery of templating to architect enduring solutions.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you'll work with cutting-edge AI technologies while contributing to Microsoft's mission of making AI accessible to everyone - consumers, businesses, and developers. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in distributed systems, full-stack development, and a collaborative mindset.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $137,600 - $294,000 (varying by location) and requires in-office presence 3 days a week in either New York or Redmond. You'll be working on high-impact projects that directly influence Microsoft's AI initiatives, particularly the Copilot systems.

Requirements For Member of Technical Staff - Full Stack Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience
  • 6+ years of experience in designing, developing, and shipping high scale services
  • 4+ years experience building distributed systems at scale
  • Experience in backend technologies such as .NET, relational and/or non-relational databases, web services and RESTful concepts
  • Experience operating, troubleshooting, and supporting high performance and business critical production systems
  • Experience in Web technologies and UI stacks such as Node.Js/React/PHP
