Senior Audio Quality Engineer

The Applied Sciences Group (ASG) at Microsoft is seeking a Senior Audio Quality Engineer to drive end-to-end validation of Voice Clarity, an advanced voice enhancement pipeline for Windows applications and devices. This role combines fundamental DSP concepts with cutting-edge machine learning techniques to elevate real-time voice and audio quality enhancement across the Windows ecosystem.

The position involves architecting and implementing complete validation strategies, from defining psychoacoustic metrics to creating automated test scenarios. You'll work with industry-standard audio test systems, develop lab setups, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers and engineers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and maintaining audio quality metrics
• Developing lab setups and measurement protocols
• Creating automated test scenarios in MATLAB/Python
• Performing code reviews for Voice Clarity APO
• Collaborating with DSP engineers and ML researchers
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with 4+ years experience or equivalent combinations of education and experience in relevant fields. The role requires expertise in audio test systems, psychoacoustics, and programming skills in MATLAB/Python and C++.
