Description For Senior Network Firmware Engineer

Microsoft's Silicon and Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team is seeking a Senior Network Firmware Engineer to join their Firmware Center of Excellence. This role is crucial in developing and maintaining hardware/firmware for Azure Infrastructure, focusing on next-generation server, silicon, and rack infrastructure. The position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in cloud infrastructure that powers Microsoft's 200+ online businesses including Azure, Office 365, Xbox Live, and more.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing firmware for AI Accelerators, particularly focusing on backend network traffic flow. This role requires extensive experience in firmware development, embedded systems, and network protocols. You'll be working with state-of-the-art hardware architectures and contributing to secure platform design and development.

Responsibilities For Senior Network Firmware Engineer

  • Develop, debug and maintain Backend network traffic flow for AI Accelerators such as MAIA
  • Contribute to architecture and design of firmware components
  • Contribute to all phases of product development
  • Perform system-level debugging and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Stay up to date with industry trends in cloud firmware technologies

Requirements For Senior Network Firmware Engineer

Rust
  • Bachelors or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or similar
  • 8+ years of professional experience in firmware development or embedded software development
  • 8+ years of Programming experience in C/C++/Rust
  • Solid understanding of computer architectures including processors, buses, and memories
  • Experience with SoC bring-up, security primitives, bootloaders, platform initialization
  • Should have worked on Ethernet MAC Layer and Network Transport Layer Protocols
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
