Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is seeking a Silicon Engineer 2 to join their Data Processing Unit (DPU) team within the Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure group. The position involves working on cutting-edge DPU silicon development, focusing on high performance, low power, and scalable solutions. As part of the front-end silicon team, you'll be responsible for RTL micro-architecture and design, solving complex datacenter problems, and collaborating with software teams on programmable silicon implementations.
This is a highly visible and impactful position within Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure team, which powers over 200 online businesses including Azure, Office 365, Xbox Live, and Teams. The role offers exposure to various domains in silicon development while providing deep technical challenges that allow for professional growth.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in RTL design, architecture experience, and deep understanding of processor and peripheral interconnect protocols. Knowledge of hardware offloading, programmable logic, and experience with technologies like DDR controllers, ARM/RISC-V processors, and PCI-e would be valuable assets.
