Description For Site Reliability Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud+AI Silver Team is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to deploy and operate a Secure Work Area, including infrastructure for collaboration within an airgapped environment. This role involves working with engineers to enable Azure services for highly secured and regulated industries.

The position requires monitoring service health, responding to incidents within SLA timeframes, and developing automation for production and deployment. You'll ensure security, privacy, and accessibility compliance while staying current with technologies that improve service reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for on-call rotations
  • Contributing to automation development and deployment
  • Maintaining security and compliance standards
  • Implementing solutions for complex live service issues
  • Collaborating across Microsoft's engineering ecosystem

Responsibilities For Site Reliability Engineer

  • Monitor service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions

Requirements For Site Reliability Engineer

  • 4+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 2 years of experience working on large-scale distributed services with on-call responsibilities
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • 2+ years of experience with PowerShell, C#, or C++ (preferred)
  • Project management and communication skills
