This role focuses on enhancing detection and response capabilities across their platform that serves over 100 million monthly active users worldwide. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of cybersecurity experience, focusing on security monitoring, detection, and incident response. They'll be responsible for implementing and maintaining security detection tools, developing monitoring rules, and responding to security incidents. Responsibilities For Security Engineer
- Implement, configure, and maintain security detection tools and platforms
- Develop and refine security monitoring rules, alerts, and dashboards
- Conduct initial triage and analysis of security alerts and incidents
- Participate in incident response activities
- Contribute to incident response playbooks
- Perform threat hunting activities
- Collaborate with teams to implement security improvements
- Stay informed on latest security threats and vulnerabilities
Requirements For Security Engineer
- 3-5+ years of experience in cybersecurity role
- Experience with cloud security monitoring in GCP or AWS
- Understanding of security monitoring principles
- Experience with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and SOAR
- Familiarity with incident response processes
- Scripting skills (Python, Bash, Go)
- Understanding of network protocols and security concepts
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (preferred)
- Security certifications are a plus
- Knowledge of Kill Chain frameworks
