The position offers a competitive salary range of $145,000-$183,000, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.
As a key member of the security team, you'll design and implement security controls, conduct threat modeling, manage vulnerability assessments, and lead incident response efforts. You'll work closely with development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle and maintain a robust security posture across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of information security experience, strong technical expertise in cloud security (particularly AWS), and deep knowledge of healthcare compliance frameworks like HIPAA and HITRUST. Responsibilities For Staff Information Security Engineer
- Design, implement, and manage security controls in accordance with HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 27001, NIST frameworks
- Conduct threat modeling and security risk assessments
- Perform vulnerability scans and apply patches
- Coordinate third-party penetration testing efforts
- Support security audits and lead remediation efforts
- Lead security incident response efforts
- Implement continuous monitoring and SIEM solutions
- Integrate security best practices into CI/CD pipelines
- Develop security policies and procedures
- Assess security posture of third-party vendors
- Provide security training to internal teams
- Manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection platforms
- Develop business continuity and disaster recovery strategies
Requirements For Staff Information Security Engineer
- 8+ years experience in Information Security with healthcare focus
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 27001, NIST
- Experience with SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, cloud security tools
- Strong understanding of cryptography, IAM, and endpoint security
- Expertise in securing cloud environments (AWS preferred)
- Experience with DevSecOps and secure SDLC methodologies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. full-time
