Description For Senior Systems Engineer (Contract)
At Open, we're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team for an initial 9-month contract. You'll be a technical leader for Apple, MDM, Google Workspace, Okta, and more, pushing us forward in adopting the latest platform improvements across the stack. You'll solve challenging problems while meeting regulatory, compliance, and security requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing secure IT systems and infrastructure
- Maintaining a secure and compliant environment with a focus on great UX
- Focusing on automation for self-service and increased efficiency
- Building strong relationships with the business
- Ensuring IT systems meet compliance requirements
- Maintaining and extending our modern technology stack, including Zero Trust
- Innovating current systems with the latest technologies
- Participating in helpdesk rotation and leading technical escalations
You'll have the opportunity to learn about the insurance industry and understand what makes Open a key player in our space.
The role may be based out of Sydney or the Sunshine Coast.
Requirements:
- Strong experience managing Identity Providers (Azure/Okta)
- Proven experience applying Zero Trust principles
- Strong experience managing Apple devices using Jamf
- Experience in regulated or compliant environments
- Strong experience with productivity platforms (Google Workspace/Office 365)
- Experience with network and VPN management (Cloudflare Zero Trust/Twingate preferred)
- GitOps tooling experience (Terraform) is a plus
- Experience leading complex technical projects end-to-end
- Strong troubleshooting skills across the entire tech stack
