OpenAI is seeking a Research Engineer for their robotics initiative to develop foundational models and shape the direction of early-stage robotics efforts. This role is part of a team focused on expanding the capabilities of foundational models for general-purpose robotics in dynamic, real-world environments.

The position involves working across the entire robotics stack, integrating cutting-edge hardware, sensors, end-effectors, and models to explore various robotic form factors. The team's mission is to develop models that provide state-of-the-art intelligence combined with seamless physical skills under practical constraints of robotic platforms.

As a Research Engineer, you will be responsible for owning and pursuing research agendas to improve model capability and performance, contributing to technical design and implementation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
