This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly within OpenAI's research organization, contributing to flagship products like ChatGPT, GPT-4o, and Sora. As a Software Engineer on the Human Data Team, you'll be responsible for building and optimizing data pipelines, developing scalable tools for data collection, and collaborating with researchers to enhance model training and evaluation.

The position requires 3 days per week in the San Francisco office and offers a competitive compensation package of $255K-$405K plus equity. You'll work closely with AI trainers to gather specialized data across various modalities including video, audio, text, and tool actions. The team's mission involves developing scalable methods and platforms to generate and evaluate high-quality data from both synthetic sources and human experts in fields ranging from mathematics and sciences to creative writing and safety.

The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of industry experience in software development, strong technical skills, and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
