As an Applied Scientist 3 at Oracle, you will be responsible for inventing, implementing, and deploying state-of-the-art machine learning and domain-specific industry algorithms and systems. You will build prototypes and explore conceptually new solutions, working collaboratively with science, engineering, and product teams to identify customer needs and create innovative solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing new intelligence around core products and services through applied research
- Building cloud services for enterprises, including decision support, anomaly detection, forecasting, recommendations, NLP, NLU, Time Series, ASR, ML, and Computer Vision
- Designing and running experiments, researching new algorithms, and optimizing risk, profitability, and customer experience
- Identifying data science use cases and designing scalable solutions
- Working with Software Engineering teams to deploy models in production
- Addressing business/customer problems using statistical and machine learning techniques
- Staying up-to-date with research and trends in ML and industry-specific domains

- Invent, implement, and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning and domain-specific industry algorithms and systems
- Build prototypes and explore conceptually new solutions
- Work collaboratively with science, engineering, and product teams to identify customer needs
- Create and implement solutions to scale
- Develop new intelligence around core products and services through applied research
- Build cloud services for enterprises (e.g., decision support, anomaly detection, forecasting, recommendations, NLP, NLU, Time Series, ASR, ML, and Computer Vision)
- Design and run experiments, research new algorithms
- Optimize risk, profitability, and customer experience
- Identify data science use cases and design scalable solutions
- Set up environments for running experiments and distributed environments
- Work with large, complex data sets
- Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems
- Stay up-to-date with research and trends in ML and industry-specific domains
- Perform research in emerging areas (e.g., efficient neural network development, novel differentiable compute primitives)
