Autonomous Database Engineer (Cloud DBA & DevOps) - UK

Oracle's Autonomous Database Team is seeking a Senior Cloud Database Engineer to join their innovative team responsible for building cloud service frameworks powering various Oracle Autonomous Database cloud services. This role combines database engineering, cloud operations, and DevOps practices to deliver and maintain critical cloud infrastructure.

The position focuses on automating deployment, scaling, and management of databases in Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You'll work with cutting-edge technology to handle lifecycle management operations and implement autonomous operations based on various events. This unique opportunity allows you to contribute across the full technology stack - from database kernel to cloud service platform and customer-facing portals.

As an Autonomous Database Engineer, you'll be responsible for deploying fixes and improvements while maintaining a deep focus on architecture, production operations, performance management, and release engineering. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams across OCI and database security to ensure reliability, performance, and compliance in an environment of increasing regulatory expectations.

The role requires a strong background in Linux, cloud computing architecture, and Oracle Database technologies. You'll need expertise in Python, SQL, and DevOps practices, combined with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. While this is a remote position, you must be able to obtain Government Security Clearance.
