The Data Center Build Engineering Team at Oracle designs and builds physical data center infrastructure to support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in different regions worldwide. They are seeking a Regional Data Center Build Engineer to join their team, someone who innovates and shares their passion for winning in the cloud marketplace.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating implementation and support efforts for new and existing Oracle data centers
- Onsite vendor management for data center infrastructure build-out
- Creating and maintaining documentation for cabling and build standards
- Reviewing Bill of Materials and creating project scopes of work
- Participating in vendor bidding and selection processes
- Designing and implementing innovative structured cabling solutions
- Managing multiple concurrent projects
- Collaborating with key project stakeholders
- Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues
Desired skills:
- Experience in designing and deploying complete data center physical plant cabling systems
- Familiarity with TIA Data Center Cabling Standards
- Knowledge of network cabling, fiber optic types, and transceiver types
- Experience with installation and planning of data center white space infrastructure
- Strong track record of successful vendor management
- Experience using test equipment such as VFL, power meter, and OTDR
- Understanding of various cabling systems and data center critical environment infrastructure
