Oracle is seeking an experienced Database Performance Engineer for their Real-World Performance team within Oracle Database development. This role combines deep technical expertise with creative problem-solving to optimize database performance for enterprise customers.
The ideal candidate will be naturally curious with a passion for computer science and performance engineering. You'll be responsible for analyzing and optimizing SQL execution plans, identifying bottlenecks, and improving performance through various diagnostic tools including explain plan, 10046 and 10053 traces, and active SQL monitors.
As a key member of the team, you'll take an active role in defining and evolving standard practices and procedures. The position requires an out-of-the-box thinker who can look at entire systems holistically, build prototypes, and drill down to root causes of performance issues. You'll work directly with customers to understand their business problems and develop efficient solutions.
