Oracle is seeking a Principal Member Technical Staff for their Data Safe development team. This role involves full stack ownership of services and technology areas, focusing on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of experience in IT, with strong skills in Java/Python development and DevOps/SRE environments. Key responsibilities include service ownership, design, monitoring, operations engineering, and automation. The role requires a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, service architecture, and the ability to optimize and scale systems. Responsibilities For Principal Member Technical Staff
- Service Ownership - be part of the Data Safe development team
- Service Design - partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture
- Service Monitoring - Define Service Level Objectives (SLO) and implement/monitor Service Level Indicators (SLI) for production services
- Operations Engineering - understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes and requirements of the services
- Service Automation - automate processes and eliminate technical debt
- Prevention - work on quickly resolving and preventing recurring issues
- Broad Interests - understand and explain the effect of product architecture decisions on distributed systems
Requirements For Principal Member Technical Staff
- BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent
- 6-10 years of experience in IT including Development in Java/Python and/or running large scale customer facing web services in a DevOps/SRE environment
- Automation experience using Terraform, Python, Scripting, Containers
- Aptitude to be a good team player and willingness to learn and implement new Cloud technologies
- Methodical approach to troubleshooting complex problems
- Solid understanding and experience in cloud computing concepts and platforms
- Experience with Java and REST APIs, web application stack and patterns
- Database administration, SQL and PL/SQL knowledge
- Linux internals and system administration skills
- Scripting languages such as Python, Bash
- Cloud service lifecycle management experience
- Configuration and change management and automation skills
- Cloud Service monitoring and incident management experience
