Principal Technical Operations Engineer

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Principal Technical Operations Engineer to join their Sovereign Cloud team. This role focuses on building and operating government, classified, and sovereign cloud regions with the same reliability and high performance as their public cloud.

As a Principal Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing production environments, including systems and databases, that support critical business operations for Japan's governmental sovereign cloud environment. Your role involves performing administration and analysis across multiple production environments while recommending innovative solutions to enhance availability, performance, and supportability.

This position offers an opportunity to leverage deep technical knowledge of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure to provide escalation support for complex production environment challenges. These challenges include managing immense growth, scaling, cloud leveraging, and maintaining extremely high performance and availability requirements.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Leading problem management cases and providing management status
• Coordinating with internal technical resources and third-party vendors
• Managing Oracle production environments and system upgrades
• Working with both Japanese and English-speaking partners
• Providing technical leadership to junior team members
• Participating in 24/7 support rotation
